Mike Tobias  Scholarship Fund

 26 July 1966 to 14 November 2019 

Michael Lemuel Tobias was a huge part in kicking off The Liquid Garage Brewing Co. project, and he continues to influence the team, our brewery, and our brews.

In fact, he was the driving force to get our previous head brewer, Jeff to learn the craft.

Michael was an amazing man. He never had a frown on his face and was an inspiration to be around. He was so passionate about the things he held near and dear. If he wasn’t brewing, he was feeding people that were in need through his activities with his church and fellow church members.

The Liquid Garage Brewing Co. has created The Michael Lemuel Tobias Scholarship Fund and have been raising money since his passing in honor of his knowledge, spirit and influence within the home brewer craft beer community. We wish to provide the opportunity to an individual interested in learning or further increasing their knowledge of craft beer brewing to attend the Brewing Arts Program available through the University of South Florida.

Most scholarships are $500 but we always say, ”Go Big or Go Home!” The Liquid Garage Brewing Co team wishes to surpass that. Perhaps you knew Mike and want to contribute in changing someone’s life like he did for so many. Or, if you did not know Mike, but understand his spirit, and you are inspired to change someone’s life, we encourage you to donate in his honor. We are accepting donations at the Brewery or online

Q: Where does the money go?

A: Currently it is collected as a fund and is accounted for by the CFO of Liquid Garage Co. The collections will continue until we have reached our goal to collect sufficient funds to contribute to a future Master Brewer.

Q: What is the amount to be collected?

A: Liquid Garage Co would like to collect enough funds to pay for the program 100% (currently $5,000). But we would be happy with any amount we can collect to support the education of a future Master Brewer.

Q: How long will the collection campaign run?

A: It has been running since 2019 and we are doing our best to collect as much as we can before deciding when we will close this campaign.

Q: Is this a tax deductible fund?

A: This is not a 501(c) or other charitable fund. However, 100% of all collected donations, including contributions from Liquid Garage Co will be provided to fund the education of a future Master Brewer.
